Opening the Heart: Joy of Living 2
Dates/Times
Date(s) - September 16, 2023 to November 11, 2023 (No session October 14)
10:00 am - 12:00 pm Central US Time
Hybrid Course with Scott Anderson
In this meditation workshop we will learn how meditating on loving-kindness and compassion can open our hearts to the world around us and relax the self-centered tendencies that lead to anxiety, dissatisfaction, and suffering. Cultivating loving-kindness and compassion helps us to see the basic goodness that all beings share. By relating to others in an open-hearted way, we bring peace to the mind and develop a sense of confidence and purpose. This, in turn, naturally brings harmony to our relationships and enables us to work with challenging situations more effectively. The schedule for this workshop includes video teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, short presentations on the key points of meditation practice by Tergar facilitators, as well as guided meditations and discussion.
Who can attend this course?
The workshop is open to anyone who has already participated in the “Joy of Living 1, Calming the Mind” course and has completed 50 hours of meditation practice, or those who have several years of meditation practice and would like to deepen their practice.
For those of you who have taken Opening the Heart before, we have some exciting news! The workshop is in a new format and includes new videos from Mingyur Rinpoche!
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

Scott Anderson has practiced yoga and meditation since he was a teenager. Since meeting Mingyur Rinpoche in 2010, he has dedicated himself to the practice and dissemination of Rinpoche’s teachings as one of the founding leaders of Tergar Madison.
