Awakening Wisdom: Joy of Living 3 (MSP-V-J3-230403)

04/03/2023 06:30 PM - 05/22/2023 08:30 PM CT

Description

In this online meditation workshop series, we will explore the practice of insight meditation. By bringing our beliefs and patterns into the light of awareness, we can see how they often blind us to the richness of our true nature. The wisdom that arises through insight meditation allows us to see our inner experience and the world more clearly.  This leads to a sense of freedom, well being, and confidence rooted in awareness itself and available to us every moment.

The schedule for this workshop includes video teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, short presentations on the key points of meditation practice and theory by Tergar Facilitators Stephanie Wagner and Amy Roth, as well as guided meditations and discussion. The following are important to participation in this workshop:

  • Practicing the meditations given in one session before the next session
  • Watching short video teachings by Mingyur Rinpoche during our meetings together
  • Attending breakout sessions with fellow students during the workshop series

This workshop is open to meditators who have previously attended Calming the Mind: Joy of Living 1 & Opening the Heart: Joy of Living 2 meditation workshops, retreats or online courses, and meet the practice requirements. If you come from another tradition and feel you may meet the prerequisite meditation study and practice requirements, please contact minneapolis@tergar.org.

About the Facilitators:

Stephanie Wagner had been meditating for several years prior to meeting Mingyur Rinpoche in 2009. Immediately she felt a sense of connection to Rinpoche’s message that anything in daily life can be used an opportunity to wake up. Stephanie is a board-certified health coach with a Master of Arts in Integrative Health and Well-Being Coaching from the University of Minnesota and is a trainer and program specialist with Healthy Minds Innovations.

Amy Roth is a long time meditator and has been a practice leader of the Tergar Meditation Community in Chicago for over 10 years. She presents essential meditation practices in a direct and accessible way that makes incorporating mindfulness and compassion into our modern lives simple, if not easy. Her work is inspired by the neuroscience research around the benefits of meditation for individuals, families and the larger community.  She is a psychotherapist and mother living in Chicago.
