Live In-Person and Hybrid Course with Scott Anderson

Community is a significant part of what we do in the Tergar Meditation Community. While we maintained our connection during the pandemic via Zoom and other online platforms, many of us are coming together in-person for the first time. Solitary practice is a significant part of the tradition held by Mingyur Rinpoche, though practicing in the same space with others provides a container of support that can facilitate our ongoing development as practitioners. In this practice retreat, we’ll celebrate time together, both virtually and in-person, and reconnect to the essential elements of what we do; practice, teachings, connecting to our teacher and connecting to  each other. Each day will focus on meditation practice, along with instructional videos by Mingyur Rinpoche and discussions facilitated by Scott and Kasumi

If you are planning on participating in this event via zoom, a link will be send to you a week before the begining of the course.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS:

Scott Anderson has practiced yoga and meditation since he was a teenager. Since meeting Mingyur Rinpoche in 2010, he has dedicated himself to the practice and dissemination of Rinpoche’s teachings as one of the founding leaders of Tergar Madison. Scott has a Master's degree in Kinesiology, and is a PhD student at the UW-Madison, where he studies mindfulness interventions for college students and adolescent athletes.

Kasumi grew up in northern Japan, where she learned to meditate from a young age. She has received extensive training in meditation and yoga, including over a year spent in solitary meditation retreats as well as numerous group retreats. She currently oversees Tergar’s activities in Japan and translates for Mingyur Rinpoche. She holds two Master’s degrees, and spent 15 years teaching Japanese at the University of Wisconsin. She now works for Tergar International as a curriculum expert. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spend time meditating in retreat.
